McDonald’s has distanced itself from former U.S. President Donald Trump following his visit to a Pennsylvania outlet on October 21, 2024, during a campaign event. The fast-food chain clarified that it did not facilitate Trump’s visit, stating, “We do not endorse candidates for elected office,” according to Quartz. The company emphasized its neutrality in the presidential race, stating, “We are not red or blue — we are golden.”

During his stop at the Feasterville McDonald’s, Trump participated in a staged event where he served fries and worked the drive-thru. Local franchisee Derek Giacomantonio explained that he had received a request from law enforcement for Trump’s visit, stating, “As a small, independent business owner, it is important that we proudly open our doors to everyone who visits.”

Following the visit, McDonald’s has invited other political figures like Kamala Harris and Tim Walz to visit their outlets to demonstrate the company’s commitment to supporting local communities.
