The Pakistan Meteorological Department has forecast mostly sunny conditions in Karachi for the next few days, with temperatures ranging between 37°C and 39°C.

Humidity levels are expected to stay between 40% and 50%, creating warm but manageable weather conditions.

A partial heatwave continues in Karachi as sea breezes have temporarily slowed down.

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department, low-speed northwesterly winds from Balochistan are currently blowing in the city as a replacement.

The forecast predicts similar weather for Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, with no significant changes in temperature or humidity. Despite the continued heat, the absence of extreme humidity reduces the chances of a heatwave in the city.

There is also a possibility of thunderstorms and rain in the Tharparkar district today.

The highest temperatures expected this week include 40-42°C in Nawabshah, 38-40°C in Mithi and Thatta, and 37-39°C in Karachi and Hyderabad.

Pneumonia cases among children in Karachi have surged because of the changing weather, with hospitals seeing a notable rise in daily admissions.

The emergency head at the Children's Hospital reported an influx of around 30 pneumonia cases each day, while Civil Hospital is currently handling 10 to 15 cases daily.

Dr. Khalid Shafi, Secretary General of the Pakistan Paediatrics Association, noted that pneumonia cases usually rise in October, November, and December.

Dr. Shafi also emphasized the severity of the disease, which causes over 70,000 deaths annually in Pakistan. "Children under two and individuals over 65 are particularly vulnerable," he stated.

Symptoms of pneumonia, as outlined by Dr. Shafi, include a cough producing green, yellow, or red phlegm, fever, sweating, chills, difficulty breathing, and chest pain when breathing deeply or coughing.
