Naomi Scott’s production company supports working class students in film and drama schools

Naomi Scott, best known for her role as Princess Jasmine in Disney’s 2019 live-action Aladdin, is using her platform to support aspiring actors and filmmakers from disadvantaged backgrounds.

Through her production company, New Name Entertainment, co-founded with her husband Jordan Spencer, Scott has established a special fund to help working-class students attend prestigious drama and film schools, such as the National Film and Television School (NFTS).

The fund also provides career development and mentorship to guide students through the often-challenging journey of entering the entertainment industry. Scott emphasized the importance of navigating the industry, particularly for individuals from lower socioeconomic backgrounds who face additional barriers to entry.

Naomi Scott returned to the big screen this week in Smile 2, further showcasing her versatility as an actress while continuing her advocacy work. Her dedication to uplifting new voices highlights her commitment to fostering talent and creating opportunities for underrepresented communities in the arts.
