Sydney Sweeney is expanding her career beyond acting with the launch of her new production company, Honey Trap, alongside longtime creative collaborator Kaylee McGregor, who will serve as president of production and development.

The company has secured a first-look deal with Sony Pictures, strengthening Sweeney’s ongoing partnership with the studio following her breakout success in projects including Anyone But You and her executive producer role on The Housemaid, according to a report by Deadline.

The announcement comes shortly after the conclusion of HBO’s Euphoria, where Sweeney starred as Cassie Howard, a role that helped establish her as one of Hollywood’s most in-demand young actors. She also gained early recognition for her performance in The White Lotus, earning Emmy nominations for both series.

Sony Pictures is already working with Sweeney on the upcoming Barbarella remake under its TriStar banner, which is set to be directed by Edgar Wright. The project is based on the classic French comic book series and the 1968 film starring Jane Fonda.

Honey Trap is expected to focus on film and television projects that explore complex characters and emotionally driven storytelling. In a statement outlining the company’s vision, the studio emphasized its aim to develop bold, cinematic content that balances intimacy, power, vulnerability and spectacle.

Sweeney’s recent producing track record includes her involvement in the commercially successful romantic comedy Anyone But You, which grossed over $200 million worldwide, as well as her continued expansion into executive producing roles on major studio projects.

With multiple upcoming films in development and a growing presence behind the camera, Sweeney is increasingly positioning herself as both a leading actress and a producer shaping her own creative slate in Hollywood.
