A man was killed and his brother injured in a highway robbery attempt near SITE Superhighway on Sunday.
As per details, armed robbers opened fire on a car after it did not pull up on Khadim Hussain Solangi Road, near Meerath Society. As a result, one occupant was killed and another injured, while another two women in the vehicle remained unharmed.
The victims are said to be brothers. The deceased, identified as 26-year-old Sadiq Nagri, son of Abu Bakar, was an employee of SUPARCO and the father of two. The number of people killed in attempted robberies so far this year has reached 97.
According to SHO Shehzad Ilyas, the deceased was traveling with his family when the suspects on a motorcycle attempted to stop them and opened fire when the vehicle did not stop.
The SHO stated that nothing was stolen from the deceased and his family. Initial information suggests that the incident appears to be a result of enmity. Further investigation is ongoing.
