PESHAWAR:

The investigation into the murder of former PPP Nazim Shahid Gul in the inner-city area of Lahori Gate, Peshawar, has taken a new turn.

According to the investigative team, the killer never left the alley. CCTV footage has been obtained, which shows no evidence of the killer leaving the street.

The investigation team claims that 90% of the work on the case has been completed, and they are close to apprehending the main suspect.

Last week, Shahid Gul was shot and killed outside his home by an unknown assailant in the jurisdiction of Gulbahar Police Station. The killer vanished from the scene immediately after the attack. The area where the incident occurred also houses the victim's guestroom.

Details reveal that on Sunday night, in Mohalla Islamabad near Lahori Gate, the unknown assailant shot and killed 42-year-old Shahid Gul outside his house. The attacker, who was already present, shot him in the head and escaped under the cover of darkness.

The police gathered CCTV footage from the surrounding areas, and a case was registered based on a complaint from the victim's father. According to the investigative team, the suspect will soon be arrested.
