Liam Payne's funeral is expected to take place next month following updates on the former One Direction star's autopsy.

Payne, 31, tragically passed away after falling from the balcony of his third-floor room at CasaSur Hotel in Buenos Aires on October 16, 2024. His father, Geoff Payne, traveled to Argentina to arrange for the repatriation of his body.

According to reports from Argentine newspaper Clarín, Payne’s body could remain in the country for 10 to 15 days while toxicological tests are completed. The British Embassy confirmed, “We are supporting Liam Payne’s family and are in contact with local authorities.”

Preliminary autopsy results revealed that Payne died from multiple traumas, leading to internal and external bleeding. Further toxicological tests are being conducted to check for traces of drugs, and his mental health history may also be analyzed. Prosecutor Andrés Madrea is overseeing the investigation, with testimonies being taken by Deputy Secretary María Florencia Lavaggi.

Payne's family issued a statement expressing their grief, saying, "Liam will forever live in our hearts... we are supporting each other the best we can." Fans around the world have held vigils in Payne’s honor, including large gatherings in London, Liverpool, and his hometown, Wolverhampton.
