Matae Jaan, a beloved drama serial from the year 2012, was revived in the hearts of old viewers through a surprise reunion of the cast. Stars Sarwat Gilani, Adeel Husain, Sanam Saeed Mirza, and Junaid Khan posed together at an event celebrating Deepak Perwani's sartorial journey in the industry thus far.

Junaid who played Adam in the well-regarded serial commemorated the meeting with his old co-stars in a simply sweet Instagram post. "A Matae Jaan reunion after a decade. Time has flown by, yet you all still look amazing—actually, even better. I'm so glad I ran into you!" he wrote, signalling that the cosy get-together wasn't planned for and was rather a pleasant surprise.

Sarwat posted a montage of highlights from the event, including the new group photograph with the cast, as she looked back on the occasion's elegance with a small tribute to her fashion designer friend. "My dearest Deepu, many congratulations on your 30 fabulous years of being a fashion icon and contributing to the fashion industry. Thank you, we all love you so much. From strength to strength, more power to you, Deeps!" she enthused in the caption.

While three of the cast members sported Western attire, with Sarwat and Adeel wearing what can be deemed as matching white shirts, Sanam wore a dark-hued saree, accompanying the black and red of Junaid's outfit. It seems that despite the unplanned nature of the meeting and the years spent apart, the onscreen partners synced with each other through couple-focused dress codes, with the pairings contrasting each other with light and dark themes.

Matae Jaan follows the love story of Hani (Sarwat) and Aabi (Adeel), who stumble upon each other in the US and connect over their shared love for eastern values. The Mehreen Jabbar serial was first penned as a novel by Farhat Ishtiaq, and its story resonated with a local audience due to the show's thematic regard for cultural roots.
