KARACHI:

Teachers and employees of Federal Urdu University of Arts, Science and Technology (FUUAST) have gone on strike, demanding salary increases and shutting down the university's Karachi campuses. The protesters claim the Vice-Chancellor reneged on a promise to raise salaries, which was initially approved in July. They argue that delayed salary payments and housing allowances have caused mental stress and financial hardship, making the reversal of salary increases unfair.

The strike has escalated, with the union extending the boycott to all academic and administrative activities across both campuses. Protest leaders have vowed to continue the protest until their demands are met.
