A policeman was martyred while preventing a robbery within the remits of Iqbal Market police station in Orangi Town.
Details reveal that armed muggers tried to rob a vehicle carrying vegetable traders in the Iqbal Market area on Thursday. However, Police Constable Abdul Ghaffar, who happened to be nearby, confronted them, forcing the panicking muggers to open fire. Constable Ghaffar was fatally shot in the chest and a civilian named Ijaz was injured in the firing.
While sharing further details, SSP West said that Constable Ghaffar was going to report for duty when he spotted three muggers on a motorcycle trying to intercept a Suzuki pickup near Khaleel Market.
