A video of a citizen being brutally beaten and then chained to an electric pole in Orangi Town has gone viral on social media. In response, the police quickly took action and arrested one suspect while the man who was chained was transferred to the hospital for medical assistance.
A fruit vendor allegedly caught a thief and subjected him to violence before chaining him up in the Orangi Town. The viral video shows the alleged thief with a chain around his neck secured with a padlock, while the other end of the chain is also locked to an electric pole. Blood was visible dripping from the suspected thief's nose, and there were noticeable stains on his clothes.
Upon the video's circulation, SP West took immediate notice and instructed the arrest of the individuals involved in the incident. SHO Pirabad Imtiaz Mirjat reported that the suspect, Amirullah, who runs a fruit cart, was arrested, and the victim, Bilal, was taken into custody. During initial interrogation, the arrested suspect accused Bilal of stealing 2,500 rupees from his fruit cart two days prior. The police stated that Bilal is a drug addict; however, he has been sent to the hospital for treatment.
