US Vice President Kamala Harris, the Democratic presidential candidate, is set to appear for her first formal interview on Fox News, marking a significant moment in her media outreach strategy.

Harris will sit down with Fox News Channel’s chief political anchor, Bret Baier, for an interview on Wednesday, October 16, in Pennsylvania.

This interview will air on "Special Report" at 6 pm ET with Baier anchoring the show live from the battleground state that evening. This will be Harris' first in-depth interview on Fox News, a network known for its more conservative audience.

Her running mate, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, has also been ramping up media appearances, including back-to-back appearances on "Fox News Sunday" as part of the Democratic ticket's increased media visibility in recent weeks.

"Special Report," a consistently top-rated cable news show, features a popular segment called Common Ground, where political figures from opposing sides discuss key issues with the goal of finding bipartisan solutions. This has been a key hit during the current election cycle.

Harris’ decision to engage with Fox News comes amid growing attention to her media engagements. Recently, she appeared on CBS' "60 Minutes," where a segment featuring two different answers on Israel sparked some controversy.

In response, Harris continued with more familiar platforms, including appearances on ABC’s "The View," Stephen Colbert, and Howard Stern’s show.

Baier, known for leading Fox’s political coverage, has moderated key Republican debates and town halls, including events with former president Donald Trump, Harris' Republican challenger in the 2024 presidential race.
