Jeremy Strong, known for his portrayal of Kendall Roy in HBO’s Succession, recently opened up about the toll the role took on him. In an interview with The Sunday Times, the actor admitted that playing Kendall for four seasons left a significant emotional impact, stating, “It’s not something I have any wish to do any longer.” Strong described the character’s internal struggles as a burden, adding that he sometimes lost touch with joy while embodying the role.

Reflecting on the series, which concluded in 2023, Strong acknowledged it as a pivotal chapter in his life but emphasized that he doesn’t miss playing Kendall, saying, “There’s just so much more I want to do.” His sentiments echo earlier comments where he suggested that the show had been “put to rest” and he wasn’t interested in reprising his role.

Currently, Strong is starring in the Donald Trump biopic The Apprentice, playing Trump’s mentor Roy Cohn. Directed by Ali Abbasi, the film has been making waves ahead of its UK release. According to Strong, the film delves into themes of power and ambition, with larger-than-life characters navigating a world of deceit. NME praised The Apprentice as “one of the most original films of the year,” with Strong’s performance receiving significant acclaim.
