News Desk October 14, 2024

The final deadline for filing income tax returns is today, Monday, October 14th, according to the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), which has confirmed that no further extension will be granted.

The deadline was previously set for 30 September, but FBR extended it to provide more time for taxpayers. However, the revenue board has now reiterated its stance against any additional extensions.

In a statement, FBR's spokesperson highlighted that the government is introducing new measures to prevent non-filers from purchasing property. This initiative is part of a broader effort to ensure compliance and boost the country's tax base.

Taxpayers have been urged to file their returns by the end of today to avoid any penalties.

Previously, FBR had extended the deadline for filing income tax returns for the fiscal year 2024 from 30th September to 14th October , following requests from various trade associations and Tax Bar Associations.
