More citizens fall prey to dengue fever

In spite of intensified anti-dengue efforts, 139 new dengue cases were reported from Rawalpindi in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of patients under treatment in allied hospitals to 258.

The new dengue cases reported take the season's total count to 2,641 confirmed patients. In the last 24 hours, dengue patients were reported from various areas of Rawalpindi district. Potohar town accounted for the majority with 68 cases.

Of 258 patients currently being treated in Rawalpindi hospitals, 85 are at Benazir Bhutto General Hospital, 52 at Holy Family Hospital, 44 at District Headquarters Hospital, 35 at Military Foundation Hospital, and 42 at other private hospitals.

In the last 24 hours, 68 dengue patients came from Pothohar Town, 19 were from the Municipal Corporation area, 21 from Rawalpindi Cantonment, eight from Potohar Rural, four from Kahuta, three from Gujjar Khan, two from Taxila, and one each from Chaklala Cantonment and Kallar Syedan.
