According to a notification issued on Saturday, various factions were planning simultaneous demonstrations, which could lead to security risks and public inconvenience.

"The protests, demonstrations, and rallies scheduled for the same day could create law and order issues," warned the Karachi police chief.

In a separate move, the Punjab government imposed similar restrictions for three days in five districts — Dera Ghazi Khan, Layyah, Muzaffargarh, Rajanpur, and Kot Addu — citing potential terrorist threats.

“All political gatherings, protests, and sit-ins are prohibited under this order,” stated a home department spokesperson, stressing the importance of public safety during this period.

Official notifications for both Karachi and Punjab were issued, underscoring the need for heightened security and protection of lives and property.
