Gold prices in Pakistan surge by Rs1600 per tola following global trend

Gold prices saw another rise in local markets, while silver prices remained stable.

Gold prices have increased again in both international and local markets on Saturday, reflecting a continuous upward trend.

Locally, the price of 24-carat gold rose by Rs1,600 per tola, reaching Rs275,500. The price for 10 grams of gold also saw an increase of Rs1,372, bringing it to Rs236,197.

In contrast, silver prices remained stable in Pakistan, with no change in the price per tola, which stayed at Rs3,050. Similarly, the price for 10 grams of silver remained unchanged at Rs2,614.88.

In the international bullion market, the price of gold surged by $16 per ounce, bringing the new global rate to $2,656 per ounce.

Yesterday, the price of gold per tola surged by Rs2,700, reaching Rs273,900, according to data from the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA).

Similarly, the price of 10-gram gold rose by Rs2,315, standing at Rs234,825. This increase comes after a slight drop in prices on Thursday, when the rate per tola had decreased by Rs500 to settle at Rs271,200.

Internationally, gold rates also climbed on Friday, with prices reaching $2,640 per ounce, including a $20 premium, up by $27 for the day. Last month, gold prices in Pakistan hit an all-time high of Rs277,000 per tola.
