Narcotics seized, several suspects arrested in drug busts across country

Police continue efforts to disrupt the drug trade near universities, with arrests and drug seizures

Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) authorities have arrested a woman for drug trafficking near a major university in the federal capital as part of an ongoing crackdown on narcotics sales around educational institutions.

According to the ANF spokesperson, officers recovered 1 kilogram of heroin and 200 grams of cannabis from the suspect. The woman was apprehended near a prominent university in Islamabad, highlighting the increased focus on targeting drug sales near schools and universities.

In another operation near a university in Multan, 495 grams of crystal methamphetamine, commonly known as ice, was confiscated from a suspect who later admitted to selling drugs to students.

In Kohat, law enforcement recovered 550 grams of cannabis from a suspect at the Alfaisal bus stand, while in Dera Ghazi Khan, 1,200 grams of ice were seized from two suspects in separate operations. All suspects have been charged under the Anti-Narcotics Act.

The spokesperson revealed that the combined value of the drugs seized in these operations exceeds Rs 4.4 million. Legal action has been initiated against all suspects, including the woman arrested in Islamabad.

Yesterday, ANF had recovered over Rs5.2 million worth of drugs, totalling 65 kilograms, in various operations.

According to an ANF spokesperson, six suspects had been arrested, including individuals involved in selling drugs in educational institutions, according to Express News.

In a raid near the Sangjani Toll Plaza, 13.2 kilograms of hashish was seized from a rickshaw, leading to the arrest of two suspects.

Additionally, 308 grams of hashish was recovered from a suspect near a major educational institution in Karachi. The arrested individuals confessed to selling drugs to students at these institutions.

In other operations, 9.6 kilograms of hashish was recovered from a suspect near the Pirwadhai bus stand in Rawalpindi.

In comparison, 42 kilograms of hashish was seized from a vehicle near Babu Petroleum in Faisalabad, resulting in the arrest of two suspects.

Cases have been registered against the arrested individuals under the Anti-Narcotics Act, and investigations have commenced.
