PM Shehbaz reviews preparations for SCO summit in Islamabad
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Friday reviewed the arrangements for the upcoming Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit in Islamabad.
During the visit, the prime minister was briefed on the reception preparations for the delegates attending the summit. Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, Information Minister Attaullah Tarar, and other senior officials accompanied the prime minister.
Naqvi, along with relevant authorities, provided a detailed briefing to PM Shehbaz on the organisational and security measures for the summit.
Meanwhile, Tarar assured that no disruptive elements would be allowed to interfere with the summit scheduled for October 15-16.
"The hosting of the SCO summit is a matter of great honour for Pakistan, and all law enforcement agencies are on high alert to ensure security," the minister said.
He further stated that the safety of the event is the government’s top priority. “By the grace of Allah, we are fully focused on maintaining a secure environment, and no miscreant will be allowed to disrupt the summit," he added.
Tarar also expressed confidence in extending a warm welcome to the heads of state and delegates attending the event. "We are certain that our guests will leave with a positive image of Pakistan," he concluded.
