Jennifer Lopez opened up about the emotional challenges she faced over the summer, including the cancellation of her tour, the end of her marriage, and a wave of public scrutiny. In an interview with comedian Nikki Glaser for Interview Magazine, Lopez candidly discussed how the difficult period has impacted her and led her to focus on personal growth.
Reflecting on her marriage’s end, Lopez shared, “It was probably the hardest time of my life, but it was also the best time because I got to do that work on myself.” She explained that taking time off from her career allowed her to prioritize her emotional well-being and spend time with her children. "I just needed to be with my kids and myself and really dig down deep into things that were happening in my life."
Lopez also addressed her journey toward self-esteem and self-worth, revealing that she has spent much of her life proving her "enoughness." She said, "My whole life has been proving my enoughness... I’m giving myself credit. I’m telling that little girl that grew up in the Bronx, ‘You’ve done really good for yourself.’"
Despite the hardships, Lopez remains resilient and is looking forward to the future. She expressed gratitude to her fans for their understanding, saying, “I was so devastated to let anybody down, but I just needed to be with my kids and myself.” Lopez is expected to return to her tour soon, promising her fans, “I’ll be out there entertaining you and shaking my ass sooner than you know.”
