The social media personality and WWE performer claimed during a recent podcast appearance with Tom Brady that his athleticism stacks up with elite NFL stars such as Justin Jefferson and Saquon Barkley. The conversation stemmed from Paul revealing he had been invited to participate in a flag football game in Saudi Arabia featuring several top NFL players.
Before Paul could elaborate, Brady reportedly expressed concern about how he would fare against professional football athletes. Paul took issue with the skepticism, asserting that he considers himself an elite athlete comparable to current NFL standouts.
Brady disagreed, offering a blunt assessment. As quoted by Athlon Sports, the seven-time Super Bowl champion told Paul, “You’re a good athlete but these guys are on another level. It’s cute I love the WWE, it is very cute but this is real football.”
Paul responded by pointing to his football background, noting he was an all-state linebacker and rushed for 1,200 yards during his earlier playing days. Brady countered that past accomplishments would not matter as much as present performance, emphasizing that the true test would come when Paul shares the field with current NFL talent.
According to the report, Paul accepted the challenge and said he intends to prove himself during the upcoming flag football event.
The exchange highlights the gap Brady believes exists between high-level entertainers with athletic backgrounds and players competing at the top tier of professional football.
