LAHORE:

A case has been registered against the in-charge of investigations at Kahna Police Station, and SHO Farooq Azam has been suspended after a victim was found illegally detained at the station.

Sources report that SHO Farooq Azam was transferred to Police Lines after a bailiff, acting under the Lahore High Court's directives, conducted a raid on the police station.

The court had ordered the raid in response to a habeas corpus petition, raising serious concerns about the unlawful detention of the victim, Imtiaz Ahmad.

Ahmad had been named in an FIR for allegedly causing injury during a robbery and illegal possession of weapons. However, during the raid, the bailiff discovered that Ahmad was being held unlawfully at the station. His recovery prompted Sub-Inspector (SI) Aslam from Kahna's investigations wing to file a private complaint, calling for an FIR to be registered against those responsible for the illegal detention.
