KARACHI:

Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah has said that currently, 20 districts are affected, with 13 confirmed polio cases in the province, but his government is committed to eradicating poliovirus.

This he said while speaking in the follow-up meeting with UNICEF Representative Abdullah Fadil and UN Resident Coordinator Mohammad Yahya.

"Sindh government is focusing on addressing the spread of polio, particularly in high-risk areas like Karachi and rural districts such as Shikarpur, Sujawal, and Ghotki, he said and added that the latest case of polio was reported on October 15 in Ghotki, and recent data indicates that 66 per cent of tested environmental sites in the province are positive for the wild poliovirus.
