KARACHI:

The three siblings who drowned in the Arabian Sea off Manora were laid to rest on Sunday at the Muhammad Shah graveyard.

The funeral prayer, held at Quba Mosque near the family home of the victims in Dastagir No. 9, was marked by heart-wrenching scenes as family members and friends broke down in tears.

The sight of the three young coffins was overwhelming, and the entire neighbourhood was engulfed in grief as relatives hugged each other and wept openly. What had begun as a joyful family picnic on Manora Island on Saturday turned into a devastating tragedy. Maaz Imam, his sisters Hiba Imam and Hufsa Imam, along with Hufsa's fiancé Mustafa Aftab, were swept away by strong waves.

While the bodies of the three siblings were recovered, search efforts by Edhi divers continue for Mustafa Aftab's body.

According to the grieving family, Maaz Imam was studying software engineering at Sir Syed University, Hufsa Imam was a student at Karachi University, and Hiba Imam was an intermediate student. Hufsa had recently become engaged to Mustafa Aftab, adding to the heartbreak of the incident.
