Karachiites march for Palestinians

Hundreds of thousands express solidarity with victims of Israeli brutalities

KARACHI:

Hundreds of thousands of Karachiites marched on Sharae Faisal on Sunday in response to Jamaat-e-Islami's (JI) appeal to express solidarity with Palestinians and other victims of Israeli brutalities. JI Pakistan Ameer Engr Hafiz Naeemur Rehman delivered the keynote address, while leaders from other political parties and various segments of society also shared their views.

In a remarkable show of unity, political workers, particularly from the Pakistan Peoples Party, Majlis Wahdat-e-Muslameen, and others, participated overwhelmingly in the march. Speaking on the occasion, Hafiz Naeemur Rehman condemned Israel's inhumane behaviour, brutalities, genocide, and expansion plans. "How can it be possible," he asked, "that the Muslim world, with millions of strong armies, airpower, missiles, and even nuclear arsenals, can not counter Israel?" He warned Muslim countries and their armies that Israel would spare no one and would eventually target them if the Zionist regime was not pushed back.

The JI leader praised the Gaza people's steadfastness in the face of Israeli brutalities and crimes against humanity. He highlighted the legitimacy of Hamas, citing the UN Charter, which allows oppressed people to resist armed occupation.

"The Pakistani nation stands united for Palestine," he emphasised. "Our political differences will not prevent us from forming a joint strategy against Israel." He proposed that the government and all political forces invite the Muslim world, its armies, and countries opposed to Israel to a unified platform.

JI Sindh Chief Muhammad Hussain Mehanti said the morale of freedom fighters in Gaza, Lebanon, and other regions remains high. Hamas leader Dr. Khalid Kadomi addressed the march via video link, condemning Israel's actions and urging Muslim unity for Al-Aqsa Mosque.

Other speakers, including JI leader Monem Zafar, PPP leader Nisar Khuhro, and Allama Baqir Zaidi of MWM, also condemned Israeli terrorism and genocide. They emphasised the need for a joint strategy and unity among Muslim countries.
