Two months given to HDA to release workers' pay, pension
The Sindh High Court Circuit Bench in Hyderabad has expressed strong displeasure over the non-payment of salaries and pensions to the employees of Hyderabad Development Authority and the defunct Water and Sanitation Agency.
The divisional bench, directed the govt and HDA officials to pay the employees' salaries and pensions within two months. The court also warned that if the issue is not resolved within this period, contempt of court proceedings would be initiated against the HDA.
During the hearing, the court ordered HDA officials to provide a satisfactory explanation for the delays in salary and pension payments. The court noted that the issue had been pending since 2022 and is still unresolved in 2024, highlighting a clear case of government negligence.
