KARACHI:

Police have arrested four suspects as they cracked the mystery of a murder that took place in the Pakistan Bazaar area five days ago.

According to District West SSP Tariq Ilahi Mastooi, a mutilated body was found stuffed in a drum and hid in a cupboard within the Pakistan Bazaar police jurisdiction on Sept 24.

The victim was later identified as 35-year-old Hassan Shah who had been strangled to death after severe torture, SSP Mastooi said.

A police team took four suspects into custody, who revealed that another suspect, Rab Nawaz, who was a friend of the victim, had picked up a fight with Hassan Shah over some domestic issue. During the fight, accomplices of Nawaz tied and killed Hassan Shah before hiding his body in a cupboard. They later drove the cupboard and dumped it near a trash pile. The arrested suspects have been identified as Umair, Bilal, Mushtaq, and Waqar. Police are conducting raids to arrest other accomplices of the suspects.
