A remote-controlled bomb targeted a police vehicle in Bajaur’s Loi Sam area, injuring five police officers, according to Express News.
The attack occurred when the bomb, reportedly planted in a tree, detonated as the police mobile passed by.
The injured officers were immediately transported to District Headquarters Hospital in Khar, Bajaur for medical treatment.
Initial reports indicate that SHO Shahpur Khan’s vehicle, which was on a routine patrol, was also affected by the explosion in the Bhai Cheena area of Tehsil Khar. However, the SHO and some officers remained unhurt.
Following the incident, law enforcement agencies cordoned off the area and initiated a search operation to apprehend the perpetrators.
Earlier this week, police booked 25 unidentified people, including three women and five drug pushers, for attacking the force in a raid.
The attack on the police left the SHO of Fatehpur police station and three constables injured yesterday.
The police had raided Basti Odan Wali near Mouza Saldeera, on a tip-off about drug pushers. When the police reached there, people gathered and pelted stones on them, injuring the SHO and three constables.
The culprits also caught some of the officials and held them hostage. DSP Burewala, Zafar Iqbal, rushed to the crime scene along with a heavy contingent of police and got released the hostages from the accused.
