QUETTA:

Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti has expressed concerns over terrorists increasingly exploiting females to carry out suicide attacks, aiming to destabilize the country.

Addressing a tribal jirga on Thursday, CM Bugti condemned these tactics by extremist groups, who are manipulating the public for their malicious intentions, including using women in attacks, which is contrary to Balochistan's traditions.

He noted that these groups are attempting to sow division through sectarian conspiracies, but vowed they would not succeed, thanks to the unity of Balochistan's people, tribal elders, and security forces.

His warning comes shortly after the recent arrest of Adeela Baloch, a would-be female suicide bomber, highlighting the growing trend of involving women in terrorism. The jirga, attended by Governor Balochistan Sheikh Jafar Khan Mandukhel, ministers, parliamentary secretaries, and security officials, underscored the urgency of countering such threats.

During his address, CM Bugti assured his full cooperation in restoring peace and announced several development initiatives, including providing armored vehicles to the Sherani Levies Force, constructing a new Basic Health Unit, and enhancing regional infrastructure. He emphasised that employment in the province will be strictly merit-based, with no room for job buying and selling, and urged administrative officers to focus on resolving public issues promptly.

The CM reaffirmed his commitment to improving governance and securing critical highways, stressing these as top priorities for his administration. He vowed to take all necessary measures to ensure peace and stability in Balochistan.
