Pierpoint’s 150th anniversary celebration quickly faded into the background as the bank’s share price plummeted, leaving traders scrambling.

Eric, who had shown signs of a midlife crisis throughout the season, was suddenly thrust into the spotlight. He had been instructed to sell everything and recover as much profit as possible. The trading floor descended into chaos, with flickering lights reflecting the bank’s impending downfall.

In a pivotal boardroom scene, Eric joined Bill Adler and other top executives in a desperate attempt to save the bank. The negotiations with potential investors, particularly Adler’s plan to bring in Mitsubishi, became the episode’s central plotline.

However, things took a turn when Eric undermined Adler. A minor discrepancy in a proposal deck triggered Adler’s collapse, and Eric, returning to his former ruthless self, seized the opportunity to push himself forward.

Adler’s emotional breakdown, coupled with the revelation of his brain tumor, added a tragic dimension to the episode.

Meanwhile, Harper and Rishi were involved in their own drama, but their storylines paled in comparison to Eric’s arc. Yasmin and Robert’s will-they-won’t-they dynamic also played out, injecting romantic tension into the episode as Pierpoint’s collapse loomed.

As Eric orchestrated a last-minute deal with Egyptian royalty, it became clear that his ruthless return came at a high personal cost, leaving viewers to question his morals.
