Bam Margera, former MTV star, has been arrested for driving under the influence in Pennsylvania, just one year after starting his sobriety journey. The 44-year-old was pulled over on Monday, September 16, and charged with DUI and reckless driving, according to a report by CBS News. Margera had reportedly been sober since August 2023, following a detox at a friend's home.
Authorities stated that Margera was not taken into custody until Wednesday, September 18, after officers were made aware of his potential probation violation. The former professional skateboarder had been on probation since June 2024 after pleading guilty to disorderly conduct, stemming from an incident in which he assaulted his brother and threatened other family members. As part of his plea deal, Margera was required to undergo random drug tests and seek treatment for his mental health.
A judge will now determine whether Margera violated the terms of his probation during a hearing scheduled for Monday, September 23. If found guilty, the reality star could face further legal consequences.
Despite these recent events, Margera's wife, Dannii Marie, seems to be standing by his side, posting a supportive selfie on Instagram on Thursday, September 19, with the caption, "love [you]."
