Beggar mafia dragnet cast

The Lahore police have registered 2,523 cases of beggary and arrested 2,566 suspects so far this year.

As many as 2,477 men, 86 women and three facilitators were arrested. This was stated by a spokesman for the police.

CCPO Bilal Sidique Kamyana stated that Lahore police are committed to a zero-tolerance policy against begging.

He emphasised the need to rid Lahore of the social malaise, particularly professional groups that exploit women and children as shield for begging. The CCPO directed the officers that no beggars should be allowed at traffic signals.
