SSGC cracks down on gas theft

In Nawabshah and Larkana, 12 illegal connections were removed

KARACHI:

Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) intensified its crackdown on gas theft in Sindh and Balochistan with targeted raids. Teams from the Security Services and Counter Gas Theft Operations (SS&CGTO), along with SSGC Police, arrested business owners Rohallah Agha and Azam Dehlvi for illegally tapping gas lines in Korangi and DHA Phase-2. FIRs have been filed, and recovery claims are underway.

In separate convictions, two gas thieves, Atif Ghouri and Jameeluddin, were prosecuted by the Gas Utility Court in Karachi for unauthorised commercial gas usage. The theft control teams also dismantled 1,425 illegal domestic connections across various cities, including 1,049 in Karachi neighborhoods like Gulshane-Iqbal and Nazimabad.

In Nawabshah and Larkana, 12 illegal connections were removed, while in Balochistan, 360 illegal connections were dismantled in Quetta and surrounding areas.
