NBC has announced the hosts and musical guests for the first five episodes of Saturday Night Live’s 50th season, which will kick off on Sept. 28. The season premiere will feature Jean Smart as the host, with Jelly Roll making his musical guest debut. Smart expressed her excitement on Instagram, writing, "SO EXCITED!!! Bucket list!" Jelly Roll, equally thrilled, posted, "BRB going to cry for a few hours and call every family member I have".
Nate Bargatze will host the second episode on Oct. 5, joined by Coldplay as the musical guest, marking the band’s eighth appearance on the show. Ariana Grande is set to host on Oct. 12 for the second time, with Stevie Nicks performing as the musical guest. Grande last appeared on SNL in April but won’t perform this time. On Oct. 19, Michael Keaton will host, with Billie Eilish returning as the musical guest.
The final episode announced will air on Nov. 2, featuring former cast member John Mulaney as the host, alongside Chappell Roan, who will make her SNL debut. This landmark season also sees several cast changes, including promotions for Marcello Hernandez, Michael Longfellow, and Devon Walker, and new additions Ashley Padilla, Emil Wakim, and Jane Wickline.
