In the fourth match of the Champions One Day Cup, Markhors defeated Stallions by 126 runs.
In the match played in Faisalabad, while chasing a target of 232 runs, the entire Stallions team was bowled out for 105 runs in 23.4 overs.
For the Stallions, Babar Azam scored 45, and Shan Masood contributed 19 runs. Apart from these two, no other batsman managed to reach double figures.
For Markhors, Zahid Mahmood took 5 wickets, Salman Agha claimed 3, and Naseem Shah picked up 2 wickets.
Earlier, Markhors were also bowled out before completing their 50 overs, scoring 231 runs in 45 overs after winning the toss and opting to bat first.
For Markhors, Iftikhar Ahmed scored 60, Salman Agha made 51, Abdul Samad contributed 37, and captain Mohammad Rizwan scored 33 runs.
For the Stallions, Jahandad Khan took 4 wickets, Mehran Mumtaz picked up 3, while Mohammad Ali and Abrar Ahmed each took one wicket.
Earlier, Yesterday the game between Dolphins and Markhors, initially planned for 17 September, has now been shifted to 18 September in observance of the Rabi-ul-Awal public holiday.
The PCB has reassured fans that tickets purchased for the original date will remain valid for the rescheduled match on 18 September, without requiring any exchanges.
The match will be a day game, with the toss taking place at 9:00 AM, followed by the first ball at 9:30 AM.
“The fans who have bought tickets for the 17 September match can use the same tickets for the 18 September fixture (no exchange of ticket required), which will now be a day game with the toss taking place at 9am and the first ball expected to be bowled at 9.30am,” the PCB stated.
The tournament, which began on 12 September, kicked off with Mohammad Rizwan-led Markhors (formerly Wolves) facing off against Shadab Khan-led Panthers.
The final of the Champions One-Day Cup is set for 29 September.
Featuring the nation’s top cricketers, the 50-over tournament follows a single-league format.
The five participating teams are mentored by notable figures: Misbah-ul-Haq (Markhors), Saqlain Mushtaq (Panthers), Sarfaraz Ahmed (Dolphins), Shoaib Malik (Stallions), and Waqar Younis (Lions).
The Champions One-Day Cup winners will receive Rs 30 million, while the runners-up will take home PKR 15 million.
