Shan Masood denies 'dressing room feud' with Shaheen Afridi

Rumours of a dispute between Masood and Afridi were fuelled by a misunderstood video clip.

Pakistan Test captain Shan Masood has refuted rumours of a dressing room disagreement with fast bowler Shaheen Afridi following the team's loss to Bangladesh in the first Test.

Masood addressed the speculation, clarifying that no confrontation occurred between him and Afridi.

He explained that a viral video showing Afridi removing Masood's hand from his shoulder was misinterpreted.

Masood stated that Afridi was experiencing shoulder pain at the time, and he had placed his hand there to offer support, which was misconstrued.

Previously, reports suggested that following Pakistan's historic 10-wicket defeat to Bangladesh, there was tension between Masood and Afridi regarding the performance of the fast bowlers.

The speculation was further fuelled by a video clip showing Afridi appearing to push Masood's hand away.

Masood has also rejected claims that he criticized the pace bowlers' performance to head coach Jason Gillespie, which supposedly led to the disagreement.

The Test series against Bangladesh has been marked by a significant defeat for Pakistan, with Bangladesh securing their first-ever Test match and series victory over Pakistan.
