MUET to provide gratis IT training to 3,000 youth

The Mehran University of Engineering and Technology (MUET), Jamshoro, will provide two-month training in a range of courses of Information Technology (IT) to around 3,300 youth.

Sindh Information Technology Secretary Noor Ahmed Samo signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with MUET and other universities in Karachi on Friday. Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah was present on the occasion.

The training will be provided gratis to around 10,000 students in whole Sindh under the Peoples Information Technology Program (PITP) initiative at the cost of Rs500 million. MUET Vice Chancellor Dr Taha Hussain Ali said the IT skills in high demand in the market and in the industry will be imparted to youth.

The courses include Java Developer, Python Developer, Database Administrator, Graphic Designer, E-Commerce Professional, Digital Marketing Professional, Web Developer, Mobile Application Developer and Data Scientist. Students with at least qualification of intermediate and aged not above 22 years will be eligible for the programme.
