Rapper Sean Kingston and his mother, Janice Turner, have pleaded not guilty to charges of defrauding multiple businesses of more than $1 million.

During an arraignment hearing on Monday before Broward Circuit Judge Ernest Kollra, Kingston, whose real name is Kisean Anderson, and Turner, entered their pleas of not guilty to organized fraud and grand theft charges.

Bond for both defendants had previously been set at $90,000, and no changes were made during the recent hearing.

Kingston and Turner face accusations of defrauding a range of businesses, including a jewelry store, a luxury bed company, a used luxury car dealership, and a microLED TV company since October 2023.

Their arrest followed a SWAT team raid at Kingston’s home in Southwest Ranches, Florida, based on a warrant issued by the Broward Sheriff’s Office.

Kingston, 34, and Turner, 61, are scheduled to return to court on October 11, and they are also confronting related charges in federal court.

Kingston first gained fame in 2007 with his debut hit “Beautiful Girls,” which sampled Ben E. King’s “Stand By Me.”
