Charli xcx, known for her eclectic musical style and fearless approach, recently made a bold statement regarding truthfulness in media interviews.

In a candid conversation with New York Magazine, Charli openly expressed her views on honesty in the press, saying, "Lying is so fun, so brat. Who made this rule that you have to be truthful and honest in the press as an artist? The press is just a tool." This provocative stance aligns with Charli's reputation for pushing boundaries and doing things her own way.

The feature also highlighted Charli's influence on other artists, including Taylor Swift and Billie Eilish.

Swift praised Charli's innovative songwriting, stating, "I’ve been blown away by Charli’s melodic sensibilities since I first heard ‘Stay Away’ in 2011. Her writing is surreal and inventive, always. She just takes a song to places you wouldn’t expect it to go, and she’s been doing it consistently for over a decade. I love to see hard work like that pay off."

Eilish echoed the admiration, describing Charli as the "coolest b*tch I know" and expressing her pride in being part of "Brat Summer."

In addition to her thoughts on honesty, Charli discussed her relationship with Atlantic Records, revealing a sometimes challenging dynamic.

She noted, "I’ve always been … interpreted as difficult. I have a high standard, and I don’t think they’re right always. And I’m not willing to do something just because they think it’s right. They don’t know what’s best for me and my career, you know? I don’t suffer bullshtters, you know? There are a lot of bullshtters in the music industry. There really, really are."

The article also mentioned Charli's recent collaborations with Bon Iver and Danielle Haim, adding to the anticipation surrounding her next musical projects.
