BTS rapper SUGA, who has recently been involved in a driving under the influence (DUI) case, appeared for his first police questioning on 23 August 2024.

On 26 August, the police provided updates on the case, clarifying key details. According to a report from South Korean media outlet TV Chosun, an official from Yongsan Police Station announced that they plan to forward SUGA's case to the prosecutor the following week.

One significant revelation from the police was that SUGA's electric scooter did not require a number plate, a detail that has helped mitigate further controversy surrounding the BTS member’s vehicle. The police also stated that there would be no further investigation, indicating that the case has been concluded.

For context, SUGA was found driving an electric scooter under the influence of alcohol on the night of 6 August 2024, after returning from a gathering. He reportedly lost his balance while making a turn, and a nearby patrolling officer, upon detecting alcohol on his breath, escorted him to the nearest police station. Although initial reports suggested a high blood alcohol level, these claims were later dismissed.

In recent developments, on 25 August, SUGA issued a second handwritten apology on Weverse, expressing regret for the incident and acknowledging the impact it had on memories created with BTS.
