Sabrina Carpenter has addressed rumours surrounding her relationship with actor Barry Keoghan in a recent interview with The Guardian. The 25-year-old singer, who went public with Keoghan earlier this year, praised working with the Oscar-nominated actor, describing it as “one of the best experiences I’ve ever had.” Despite rumors of a split, Carpenter remained coy, referring to Keoghan as “such a great actor” while mocking her diplomatic response.
A source recently told PEOPLE that the couple's relationship has been “on and off.” Carpenter, known for her privacy, acknowledged the challenges of public scrutiny but emphasized her commitment to honesty in her music, stating, "It’s not what I signed up for, but... it comes with the territory."
Keoghan starred in Carpenter’s music video for “Please Please Please,” released in June, where his dedication to the project was evident. Carpenter also expressed her admiration for Keoghan in a Variety interview, calling him “one of the best actors of this generation.” The couple first sparked dating rumors in December and made their red carpet debut at the Vanity Fair Oscars afterparty in March. Recently, Keoghan seemingly addressed the breakup speculation by liking a flirty Instagram post by Carpenter.
Carpenter’s new album, Short n’ Sweet, was released on August 23.
