Donald Duck to celebrate 90th anniversary with special appearance on Hot Ones

Donald Duck, the iconic Disney character, is set to celebrate his 90th anniversary in a unique way by appearing on the popular YouTube talk show Hot Ones later this week. The announcement was confirmed in an August 21 post on X by the official First We Feast account, which hosts the show. Hot Ones, hosted by Sean Evans, features celebrity guests as they are interviewed while eating increasingly spicy chicken wings. The show, which debuted in 2015, has gained a substantial following and has received critical acclaim, including two Daytime Emmy nominations.

Donald Duck, created by Dick Lundy and Walt Disney, first appeared in the 1934 animated short The Wise Little Hen. While the short premiered on May 3 at the Carthay Circle Theater, Donald didn't gain widespread recognition until its official release on June 9, 1934. The character, originally voiced by Clarence Nash, became a staple of Disney's animated universe. Over the years, the world surrounding Donald Duck, including the town of Duckberg and characters like Scrooge McDuck, was expanded by artist and writer Carl Barks, contributing significantly to Disney's rich animated history.

To commemorate Donald Duck's 90th anniversary, Disney has organized various celebrations across different media platforms. In June, Disney released a new animated short titled D.I.Y. Duck alongside two remastered classics, Crazy Over Daisy and Out on a Limb, all available on Disney+. Additionally, in July, Marvel Comics joined the celebration with the release of What If...? Donald Duck Became Wolverine #1, a comic reimagining the Marvel Universe with Disney characters.
