Donald Trump supporters trolled Oprah Winfrey after her endorsement of Vice President Kamala Harris at the Democratic National Convention.
Winfrey, making a surprise appearance in Chicago, urged voters to support Harris in the 2024 election, emphasising "decency and respect" as key values. She called on Americans to "choose the sweet promise of tomorrow over the bitter return to yesterday."
🚨Oprah was in love with Donald Trump, she wouldn't let him breathe whenever he was around her.

He wasn’t racist when she was hugging on him, laying her face on his chest and asking him to run for President
What Happened, How did he become racist over night? pic.twitter.com/Ob64DrjGmB
In response, the Trump campaign’s "War Room" X account resurfaced an old handwritten letter Winfrey sent to Trump in 2000, where she expressed admiration for him after reading an excerpt from his book, ‘The America We Deserve.’ Winfrey wrote, "Too bad we’re not running for office. What A TEAM!" Trump supporters used this letter to contrast Winfrey’s past praise with her current criticism of Trump.
Investigative journalist Laura Loomer pointed out the letter’s final line, suggesting that Winfrey once wanted to be Trump’s running mate.
Lmao @Oprah just endorsed Kamala Harris on stage at the DNC and so Donald Trump posted the letter that Oprah sent him.

The last line says: “Too bad we’re not running for office. What a team!”

Additionally, Trump supporters circulated old pictures of Winfrey with Harvey Weinstein, referencing her association with the disgraced movie mogul and labelling her "Hollywood's favorite Madame."

Never forget who Oprah Winfrey kept in her circle.

Harvey Weinstein was originally sentenced in 2020 for his crimes against several women & again in 2022.
Harvey Weinstein retrial starts November 12th.
Will Oprah be by his side then too? pic.twitter.com/RDaadTxNhg
These actions were seen as attempts to undermine Oprah Winfrey’s endorsement of Harris by highlighting her previous support for Donald Trump.
