Child beaten by madrassa teacher for not memorising lesson in Karachi

A madrasa teacher brutally beat a seven-year-old orphan in Karachi’s Korangi area for not memorising a lesson, then fled the scene, Express News reported.

The incident occurred at a madrasa in Korangi, where the teacher, identified as Qari Hanan, assaulted the child, Muaz, with a thorny stick, causing a deep wound to his arm.

The injured child was shifted to a hospital for treatment.

SSP Korangi, Tauheed Rehman Memon, took immediate notice of the incident, registering a case against Qari Hanan at Korangi police station. The police have launched a manhunt and are conducting raids to apprehend the suspect.

Authorities expressed confidence that the accused would be arrested soon.
