Alicia Silverstone recently updated her social media to assure fans that she is fine after a TikTok post on Monday raised concerns. In the video, Silverstone showed a brightly colored fruit she had sampled, which led some viewers to worry it might be poisonous. "Alive and well! Don't worry... I didn't swallow 😉😛," she quipped in a follow-up post.

In her original TikTok, Silverstone sought help identifying the fruit, which she had picked from a bush near a residential property. The fruit, which she described as being the size of a cherry tomato, was quickly speculated by fans to be Solanum pseudocapsicum, also known as the Jerusalem cherry, which is mildly poisonous.

Rachel Meyer, an Associate Adjunct Professor of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology, confirmed the plant's identity and noted that while it is mildly poisonous and might cause nausea, it generally isn't harmful if only a few fruits are consumed. Meyer also mentioned that the plant has medicinal uses but cautioned against consuming it without proper knowledge.

Silverstone seemed to suspect the fruit might not have been a good choice to eat and concluded her TikTok by asking for further identification help, noting the fruit tasted unusual, almost like a pepper. She ended by requesting information from her viewers, mentioning she was in England.
