TikTok star Sophia La Corte has finally addressed the ongoing drama involving her ex, Reed Williams, and fellow influencer Halley Kate.
The drama began when Reed and Halley, who started dating early last year, ended their relationship in November 2023. Halley was open about her post-breakup experiences, receiving praise from fans for her vulnerability. However, tensions escalated when Halley posted a TikTok video lip-syncing to Taylor Swift's "Karma," leading fans to speculate there was more to the story.
Shortly before Halley’s video, an anonymous Reddit post claimed that Sophia and Reed were seen getting cosy at a New York City bar, just days after Halley and Sophia had attended an influencer event together. In response, Halley posted a series of now-deleted TikToks, where she expressed her frustration, stating, "Ladies, let me be your lesson. Never feel sorry for a man or defend him." She also accused Sophia of pursuing Reed shortly after their breakup.
Despite the turmoil, Halley and Reed rekindled their relationship in early 2024 and are still together. Meanwhile, Sophia broke her silence on the matter through a series of TikTok videos, uploaded on Sunday.
In her videos, Sophia clarified her side of the story. She detailed how she had only met Halley a few times and dismissed claims that she intentionally pursued Reed. "He's single," Sophia stated, adding that she didn't feel obligated to respond to Halley's messages.
"I'm glad it happened to me because I genuinely wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy," Sophia stated.
Sophia also addressed the claims that she sought out Reed through Halley's Instagram following list, calling it a "complete lie." She revealed that Reed had planned their date a week before the influencer event. "I would never DM anyone while I'm standing next to anyone ever," she emphasised.
In her final video, Sophia read out the hateful comments she received during the height of the drama but urged her followers to "keep your head up" and not believe everything online. Halley seemingly responded to Sophia's statements by posting videos discussing authenticity and the challenges of dealing with online rumours and hate.
