Joe Biden’s speech at the Democratic National Convention was criticised as lengthy and, at times, confusing.
The 81-year-old president, in a speech following his decision to step down from his bid for re-election, touched on various issues.
Biden, visibly emotional, spoke passionately about his love for America, frequently pausing to wipe away tears. “America, I love you!” he exclaimed, following an introduction by his daughter, Ashley Biden. Despite the enthusiastic chants of “Thank you, Joe!” from the crowd, the speech was moved out of prime time, further indicating the president's diminishing standing within the party.
NEW: President Biden has arguably one of his worst speeches to date, lies and slurs his way through the entire speech.

However, Biden’s address quickly became fodder for conservative critics. Ben Shapiro ridiculed the length of the speech, quipping that Biden spoke “48 minutes past everybody's bedtime.”

Critics also accused Biden of spreading misinformation and contributing to confusion, particularly when he repeated the debunked "very fine people" hoax, which has been a point of contention for years.

Biden remained determined despite the backlash, asserting that he still has much to accomplish in his final months in office. “I’ve got five months left of my presidency, and I have a lot to do. I intend to get it done,” he declared, even as he prepared to depart for a vacation in Santa Ynez, California, following weeks of limited public appearances.
