Five suspects injured in separate encounters

The Hyderabad police shot, injured and arrested five wounded suspects in as many encounters taking place in the jurisdictions of different police stations in the wee hours of Sunday. The police spokesman Awais Rajput informed that suspect Zulfiqar Khoso, whose previous criminal record is being checked, sustained a gunshot to his leg in an exchange of fire with Naseem Nagar police near Mehran bridge.

Likewise, Tandojam police rounded up Jehangir Abbassi Aafaque in injured condition but his associate escaped during an encounter near Shafiq Boundary area. Four suspects riding on two motorbikes allegedly assaulted Bhitai Nagar police. One of them, identified as Javed Mangrio, sustained a gunshot before he could be arrested while his accomplices escaped.

The fifth encounter occurred in the area of Market police station where an alleged robber, Saddam Hajano, was arrested with a gunshot injury suffered in an exchange of fire with the police.
