25 injured as passenger coach falls into ditch

As many as twenty-five people, including women and children, were injured when a passenger coach coming from Punjab fell into a ditch on M-9 Motorway near DHA City on Saturday afternoon.

As per details, the accident occurred when the coach driver lost control of the high-speed vehicle due to a road bump. Rescue 1122, Gadap City police, and Edhi volunteers rushed to the crash site to carry out rescue operation.

According to the Rescue 1122 spokesperson, the coach was carrying 46 passengers, including women and children. All passengers were pulled out from the vehicle with the help of female volunteers and were given first aid on the spot.

However, six passengers, including 45-year-old Kausar Bibi, 35-year-old Ashfaq, 32-year-old Noor Hasan, 40-year-old Aftab Ahmed, 32-year-old Mumtaz, and 30-year-old Yusuf, were shifted to a nearby hospital for further medical aid.

According to Fahdal Hasan, SHO of Gadap City police station, the coach driver said that most of the passengers were pilgrims from Faisalabad, who were traveling to Iran.

Passengers, however, stated that the coach had collided with a trailer due to slippery road conditions caused by rain, leading to the driver losing control on the steering wheel.
