12 suspects held after alleged encounters

Police claim to have arrested 12 suspects, seven in injured condition, after encounters in different parts of the city on Saturday and recovered illegal arms, stolen motorcycles and valuables from their possession.

In the first incident, a gunfight took place between robbers and police in the wee hours of Saturday near Nasir Jump, Mehrun Nisa Hospital. This resulted into the arrest of two armed suspects, Shakeel and Abdul Sattar, in an injured state. Weapons, mobile phones, and a stolen motorcycle were recovered from their possession.

In another incident, a member of the Afghan dacoit gang, Asif Afghani alias Shera, was apprehended in an injured condition, while his accomplice managed to escape near Paracha Cemetery, Pirabad police station. Illegal weapons, ammunition, bullet casings, mobile phones, and cash were recovered.

Three suspects were arrested after a shootout in Gulistan-e-Jauhar Block 13, within the jurisdiction of Sharae Faisal police station. Illegal pistols, ammunition, and cash were recovered from their possession.

Gabol Town police arrested two suspects, one in injured condition after an exchange of fire, near Kachra Kundi in Federal B Area, Weapons and a motorcycle were recovered from their possession.

An accused, Ali, was arrested in an injured condition, and a weapon was recovered from his possession in Shahjehan Lane, Lyari.

The PIB police apprehended robbers with the help of citizens, and recovered two pistols from their possession.
